Location: The Bow Skyscraper, 510 Centre Street S.W. in Calgary
The Climb for Wilderness, a signature event for the Alberta Wilderness Association, is being held at the iconic Bow Building this year. The goal of the event is to raise public awareness of wilderness, wildlife and water in Alberta.
The event provides learning opportunities and the challenge to climb all 1,188 stairs of the building.
It raises money for the Alberta Wilderness Association and is known as the best Earth Day event in Western Canada — often attracting more than 1,000 participants and 150 volunteers each year.
There's no registration fee, but climbers must meet a minimum fundraising amount to climb. It's $75 for age 15 and over and $40 for age 15 and under.
